Ellevio AB (publ) publishes investor report for its green bond
Press releases
Ellevio AB (publ) has today published its annual investor report regarding the company's green bonds.
The report contains a description of the projects financed through green funding and allocated amounts. The report is available at ellevio.se/en
In June 2020, Ellevio issued its first green bond totaling SEK 1,650 million. The large interest led to that Ellevio increased the bond by SEK 350 million in August of the same year. The projects financed by the green bonds are the roll-out of the next generation of smart electricity meters and connections of more renewable electricity to the electricity grid.
- Ensuring reliable electricity supply is one of society's most important tasks and the electricity grids play a decisive role in the fossil-free society of the future. This has become even clearer during the last year's dramatic development in the energy market. We note a great interest among investors to be part of this journey going forward, says Jan Seveborg, Head of Treasury at Ellevio.
By the end of 2022, a total of SEK 1,201 million had been invested in projects approved in renewable energy and SEK 993 million in energy efficiency projects. All funds are consequently invested.
Green financing framework
Ellevio's green bond framework was launched in 2019. The framework has been reviewed by the independent climate and environmental research institute CICERO and has received the highest rating, "Dark Green".
During spring 2023, this will be replaced by a new framework for green financing in accordance with the EU taxonomy and the European Green Bond Standard.
